A sound knowledge of anatomy and physiology of the human body is most essential for all the health science graduate students. An effort has been made in this Textbook of Anatomy and Physiology to provide the essential matter in a thorough yet concise manner. The book has been written primarily for the students of nursing and other allied health sciences to help them understand the fundamental basics of the subject. Material provided is aimed at providing an insight into how the body is structured and how it functions and how the alterations in normal structure and functioning results in disease. To achieve this aim the text matter on pure and applied aspects of human anatomy and physiology has been skillfully intermingled and presented in an adorned form. It is hoped, the book will be useful in laying a strong foundation for health science graduate students. Section 1 is devoted to general anatomy and physiology and the rest eleven sections describe the human body system by system.
