A sound knowledge of anatomy and physiology of the human body is most essential for all the health science graduate students. An effort has been made in this Textbook of Anatomy and Physiology to provide the essential matter in a thorough yet concise manner. The book has been written primarily for the students of nursing and other allied health sciences to help them understand the fundamental basics of the subject. Material provided is aimed at providing an insight into how the body is structured and how it functions and how the alterations in normal structure and functioning results in disease. To achieve this aim the text matter on pure and applied aspects of human anatomy and physiology has been skillfully intermingled and presented in an adorned form. Care has been taken to include the material as per syllabi prescribed by Council for Nursing and Council for other allied health sciences. It is hoped, the book will be useful in laying a strong foundation for health science graduate students. The book has been organized into twelve sections and each section has been subdivided into various chapters. Section 1 is devoted to general anatomy and physiology and the rest eleven sections describe the human body system by system. Salient Features ‧The text has been organized in such a way that the students can easily understand, retain and reproduce it.
