The Fourth Edition is designed as a problem solving handbook. Each chapter includes a number of clinical cases which the reader is asked to examine prior to reading the chapter. Suggested management plans for these cases are supplied at the end of the chapter. In addition to these problem-solving exercises, project work is included for each chapter, which can be carried out using either an on-line database or medical library. Many of the full-color illustrations to be found throughout the text are new to this Fourth Edition, and the page size has been enlarged and the design updated to make the book easier to use and more appealing.
